But of course we're really talking about the FEMALE Taemin (the "stage name" for Yoo Jimin), who can be seen in this video from 1:14 to 1:20 and from 2:03 to 2:31. She has yet to make her debut but hopefully she'll be in SM's new girl group for 2020. (One person described her singing as "awesome" and she certainly can dance. She's even nice looking and about as tall as Yoona from Girls' Generation, a fairly successful girl group from SM.)

Oops. Taemin is that GUY. Jimin may not have a "stage name" yet but is "rumored" to be a possible girl group member soon with SM. Since SM is so secretive, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

The chances of Yoo Jimin being in SM's new girl group for 2020 are greatly enhanced by the departure Lami and Koeun from SM to pursue individual careers and the current emphasis of Park Jungyeon on getting more training in acting. Since SM is so secretive, we'll just have to wait and see. (Helen is also in the running for the new girl group from SM.)

Helen was born Lee Hye Jin in South Korea in 2003 and raised from the age of 4 in Brisbane, Australia (NOT a suburb of Seoul). She has recently returned to South Korea and is apparently being groomed by SM for one of their new girl groups. In this video showing her as one of the backup dancers with Taeyeon, she appears to be imo the most attractive and talented dancer on the floor (outside of Taeyeon, of course) and certainly the youngest.

The reason I am utterly obsessed with Want, even more than I was with Move, is because in Move he was the most precise and polished dancer on stage, every movement was so deliberate and perfectly placed and the backup dancers were trying to keep up. But in Want, he's lazy. The backup dancers' movements are more exaggerated, sharper, more traditionally perfect kpop dancing, whereas Taemin's movements are muted, like he's just marking the choreography, he can't even be bothered doing it properly. It looks lazy and arrogant and effortless and it is utterly, utterly brilliant.

You put into words perfectly what I've been feeling from Want! I've described it as "relaxed" but that doesn't capture the other part of why I like it, and it's because that's the concept, he doesn't NEED to be passionate and perfect and always doing complicated moves because he'll seduce everyone anyway. The "lack" of effort is the most intentional part of Want and what Taemin's trying to do, and I hope it doesn't get seen as an actual lack of talent. He's so good he can move muted, and is still mesmerizing, and he knows it. I'm really proud of him for doing this, he's put in so much work over so many years he deserves to be "arrogant" with his dancing lol

Although, his laid back, relaxed, and almost lazy way of dancing here has its own charm. Taemin still managed to grab my attention, still can't look away while he dances.

I had the EXACT same thought.

Taemin's body movements and precise muscle control are so iconic and unique that we can instantly recognise him even if he dances behind a screen

As someone who danced, it is crazy how well he was control over his body. He makes dances look simple but the technique in them is crazy.

He has Michael Jackson and Koharu Sugawara incarnated in this performance. I can see he learnt so much from those awesome choreographers! Taemin, your choreography killed it!

Taemin is the best solo artist in the kpop industry... I said it I ain't takin it back. Chungha is amazing and extremely talented don't get me wrong but as different as they are Taemin is so much more artistic and his aura is godlike. He moves in such a natural and fluid sort of way and he has his own sound and style and watching him feels so much more different to any other solo artist I've watched. If only people weren't so narrow-minded they would see the actual art and aesthetic of Taemin and altogether kpop.

vashtify yeah, i guess it’s because this song makes it sound like a song which would describe how someone would act while they’re drunk. They’re drunk, but they’re honest and let their emotions out most in that moment. I think that’s why Taemin danced like that, it depicts the song more accurately, but you can still tell that he can feel the groove. It’s honestly amazing and genius

I agree..also they move sharper? and kindaf faster? than taemin by a 0.0000000000001 sec but still .. I usually love sharp moves but this song gives different vibes!! I heard it first without watching the mv and my body started automatically to wiggle lol like a jelly ..donno how to explain but as you said taemin is so different in that he captures the essence of the music while being a great dancer ..he has it all 😫😫
