she always does well with choreo like this! like look and dumb dumb. and kinda like umpah umpah, too. and maybe russian roulette. she can't dance well in heels (it's not easy and it seems to make her nervous and uncomfortable) but she dances perfectly in normal shoes. truly lead dancer material. i stan my ult gg bias

Seulgi is all over the comment section. Wow. SM's secret weapon never disappoints.

I love how their concept is not limited to cuteness. They are also quirky, entertaining, fresh and charismatic. RV's songs are catchy and super upbeat but they also have their velvet charms, ballads and R&B tracks and they absolutely kill it! If you're doing a cute concept you need to add a 'special factor' that draws the public in and that's exactly what Red Velvet does. Their concepts may not be entirely unique in your eyes because they're "cute" but their charms along with that _special factor_ is the secret weapon that makes them so sucessful. They have their own color and you can't deny it.

장미 You know cuteness is a genre with hundreds of subgenres, right? Like Red Velvet, Twice, Gfriend, and Black Pink are all cute groups but they have different subgenres. Red Velvet is still very much a cute group (I mean, look at all of the aegyo in this choreography), but they are a type of quirky cute. Just like Gfriend is a powerful cute, and Twice is a cheerleader cute, and Black Pink are a badass cute group. It's all the same umbrella just different sub sections

That's my point. Like I said, if you're doing a cute concept you need something to get the public's attention. Red Velvet uses the cute concept as a base and then they incorporate their quirky and alluring sides that fans adore so much. That makes them stand out. I never denied that they're cute I merely pointed out that they also have many charms that distinguish them from other groups and make them the succesful girl group they are today.

R r that’s called growing up. Elementary school days start when you are young and high school end when you are basically an adult. She did grow up in Canada so she was raised there. Her ethnicity is korean but I’m pretty sure her nationality is Canadian. She could be korean Canadian. Point is, she is Canadian and she can speak English fluently. Yes she will cringe when hearing people pronounce a language she grew up in. It’s the same as someone from a foreign country teaching a language in America and the students are pronouncing it wrong, ur gonna cringe.

Seulgi really has a good proportion, she is around 163 as per google saying but she look taller than her actual height. Her leg is long n look really good and she is slim not skinny. I wouldn't say that, actually... I live on the opposite side of the planet from South Korea. But because I live in a city with a massive Asian population, there's a little ( and extremely busy ) Kpop store within walking distance of my home. 5 vocals + 5 visuals + 5 dancers = RED VELVET

I really REALLY LOVE how confident they are with their own skin. None of the members are wearing much make up here and still they are confident and are showing their skin to the public which most artists avoid and often wear masks. This ,kind of, shows that they focus on the aspect that they are doing. Like its dance practice vid where they are slaying with their dance and not their looks. And another thing that makes them unique as a group is that they are not your cute ordinary girl group but they are weird, smart and go towards the more meaningful concepts in their velvet sides. I HOPE SM GIVES THEM JUSTICE AND MORE LOVE.

EXO's AERI I am pretty sure they're all wearing makeup, just not stage-makeup. SM would never let them perform without at least BBcream in a video meant for release to the public. That being said, it's a very natural look indeed, so props to red velvet for showing a more natural side and making the dance the focus of the video rather than their looks:)

So Eun Considering the camerawork (the way the camera zoomed down from the ceiling in the beginning of the video and then back at the end) I think SM were planning to use the footage:) if you want to see true "not-meant-for-the-public-footage" go watch SHINee's Lucifer dance practice; it was one of the first dance practice videos made public, and you can tell it wasn't meant to be broadcasted, bc there's a toilet roll on the floor in front of them to mark the centre of the room and the stripes on Taemin's shirt create strange visual illusions together with the low resolution :p Ever since EXO's debut in 2012 (the EXO members wore huge name tags covering their shirts in the dance practice video, something that clearly shows SM meant to release it to the public) SM has consciously made more polished and tweaked dance practice videos to put out more material for the fans, and many other companies have done the same. I don't think too many dance practice videos nowadays are shot without the idols already knowing it's going to be put up on KZread, it's sometimes almost as important as the actual MV:)

This is really a shit, RV has such talented and beautiful girls, they all have good personalities, in this comeback they reached the top charts in various sites and SM still don't recognize the girls... They didn't have any concerts or reality shows, this is sad.

The Answer Is Kpop they have done a short bit of it on After School Club, it's soooo fast but they still pulled it off! ^-^
